Bunker Hill Free Will Baptist Church-2009 Morning Service Excerpts

We are choosing two paths today. One is death and the other is safety and life. Tell people of the path of life! We need to reach our friends and neighbors! My wife and I came to church faithfully every Sunday in the beginning and she was more faithful than I was. Then we started coming on Wednesdays and doing things in the church. There was a deeper commitment and understanding in my family. Where is our hope? Is it in national leaders and money? Hope is only found in Jesus! Any other hope is a lie! Now you are an ambassador for Christ when you are reconciled to him! Everyone is necessary and lost people matter!

Highlights

Today Pastor Bill Sheets became the first full time paid Pastor and is a milestone in the 36 years of history of our church. Pastor Bill has Pastored this church for the past 8 years and we look forward to many more fruitful years.

Negative habits or attitudes? A leader continues to grow and builds relationships. A leader shares responsibility and holds others accountable. Leaders are mentored and mentors!

Today our smallest children participated in ministry with us to raise funds in donating 1 dollar for hugs. We think we should always care for our youngest and they don't get an opportunity to participate with us. Each person has their own individual ability and inability. When we work together we do much more than can be done by ourselves. Each believer is gifted!

What New Year resolutions were made? Ask not what was the resolution but why was the resolution. What is the purpose! Do we lose weight to look better? Do we spend our money wisely to buy more stuff or do we glorify God in a healthy body being good stewards of it? Do we spend more wisely being good stewards of it? Make God the center of resolution not self centeredness.
